We all have a fantastic story for how we got to where we are today. However, you don’t just need your story to let potential clients know who you are and what you can do for them, you need to know how to tell that story.

Each and every one of us is different than the other. That is one of the beauties of freelancing. Even if you offer the same services as someone else, there is one thing that you offer that no one else can: you.

You are the only freelancer in the world who does exactly what you do in your unique way.

You need to be able to highlight your attributes, show what makes you stand out among the competition, and tell it in a way that is unique to you.

Freelancers Union offers 5 tips on how you can better tell your story to potential clients.

“1. Carve out the time to get it right

You need to set aside time for yourself to craft your unique story. Take a look at your schedule and determine when you most like to write and feel self-reflective. Over morning coffee? At night after a day’s work? On the weekend?

Make it count! Schedule a few hours in your calendar and show up. This is a very important meeting you have with yourself.”
