If you’re like me then you probably feel like there is never enough time in the day.
Freelancers wear many hats and the amount of tasks that each hat requires can be downright overwhelming.
Sure, you can try to multitask but will that really make your more productive? It’s unlikely.
Instead of trying to do everything at once, sometimes it’s best to take a step back and batch your tasks.
“#1: Batch your tasks
This is probably my fav strategy of all! If you want to take control of your time, put all of your tasks into batches, instead of trying to multi-task everything and failing…
I’m a huge multi-tasker myself (I’m often writing a blog post while putting the washing on, jumping up to deal with the dishwasher… stupid stuff!), but when you’re just starting your side hustle, you’re trying to find a balance; you might find that multitasking is actually doing more harm than good.
So here’s a few pointers of how this might work for you:
- Got a busy week ahead? Do all your cooking for dinner Sunday night and freeze your meals. It’s far easier (and quicker) to heat something up then waste money on takeaways!
- Catch the train or bus to work? Take the time to read up on your new skill or business. Listen to podcasts, read blog posts, learn new skills while commuting to your day job (slightly multi-tasking, but in a good way!).
- Schedule your side hustle into your calendar. When you’re working on those tasks, get rid of distractions… ask your significant other to watch the kids if need be!”
