Creative block is a freelancer’s worst enemy.

There’s nothing quite like trying to come up with ideas for a project only to be left with a blank page.

It’s not so much as a matter of if it’ll happen, but a matter of when.

When creative block strikes, will you be ready to fight back?

One extremely effective way to fight creative block is to simply move around.

I love riding my bike, so whenever I am not feeling very creative, I’ll usually go for a bike ride. It allows me to clear my head and I’ve come up with some of my best ideas while on my bike.

So, next time you find yourself facing a creative block, trying getting up and moving around.

“A 2013 study in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience shows that regular exercise is associated with better divergent and convergent thinking – two important components of the creative thought process. If you’re not fond of exercising, even a quick 30-minute walk each day will help clear your mind. It’s also good for your overall health and well-being.

Another tip is to set your clock as a reminder to move around every 45 minutes to give your brain a rest and get your blood circulating. This also will help to keep you refreshed and relaxed, and boost your brainpower.”
