Why we chose to share this post:

A couple of years ago, I read the book Start by Jon Acuff. One of the best pieces of advice I got from Jon went something like this:

Get up at 5am when no one needs anything from you and work on whatever you’re building (business, brand, hobby, etc.)

Niel Patel’s advice from this post syncs up with Jon’s nicely and I’ve seen it prove true in my own experience building a successful side-gig.

Here’s what he says:

“Wake up at an ungodly hour.

To really get stuff done, you’ve got to get up in time to make it happen.

I recommend anytime from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. If your morning routine takes a little longer, bump your wake-up time back a little more.”
